Dear Oldest Child,
I have started this letter several
times and in several ways, but the likelihood of you ever reading it
is slim, so I guess it doesn't really matter. You are 18 now,
graduating (or graduated). Welcome to life after childhood. I know
you won't understand what that means yet. You still need time to
work out the hormones and figure out what life really is before you

has been a while since my last entry.
Today’s events prompted me to sit down and get these thoughts out of my
head.
Today
started with my thoughts on other parents in our hometown, where a threat had
been issued to shoot twenty children in five schools between two counties. No names or places had been specified, it was
a general, vague threat, but it was Kittencaboodlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13784163623481023575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5631827617662961396.post-32598116267216422712012-08-15T16:17:00.001-04:002012-08-15T16:17:35.023-04:00I've decidedI don't want to get over her. Today we lost my beloved cat, Caitlin. I had raised her from kittenhood and took her through 12 years of her life. Last year, around this time, she stopped eating. I poured food and milk down her throat and bullied her back into fighting shape. For a year, she was back to herself. Everyone does what they can just to survive in some cases but they filmed their day because they were thankful for whatever life they have.
There are days when I am angry about the difficulties I've experienced, just as I am sure most people are. When did this happen? And why? It seems that most people believe a feminist is someone who believes in the superiority of women, seeking to set themselves apart from their counterparts by changing e's and a's to y's and removing men completely from the cycle.

After scanning my computer to be sure that I did NOT have a virus (I don't, other than this sinus/chest thing which can go blow a goat) I decided that since I cannot randomly plod through the world at large and express my thoughts on it on Facebook, I would do an update Kittencaboodlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13784163623481023575noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5631827617662961396.post-85973226780766824202012-02-06T14:19:00.000-05:002012-02-06T14:19:16.553-05:00A trip down the old house lane
It was a wonderful weekend. I love relaxing at home with my family. When I work split shifts, I often find myself just wiped out during my free time. I spend a great deal of time sleeping and recovering only to turn around and do it again the next day. That is simply one of the reasons why the weekends are so desperately needed. I get that extra day to recuperate.
This weekend, we had a Kittencaboodlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13784163623481023575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5631827617662961396.post-40518687483811741212012-01-30T16:09:00.000-05:002012-01-30T16:09:12.752-05:00Welcome to February!Classes for the month of February have begun, and the new month is underway. My day started off too damn early. Mornings are not my thing. I am definitely more of a night owl. So are the Big and Little Guys, it seems. Both were less than pleased at waking up at dark o'clock so that I could get to work. But, awaken, they did and off we went.
My day has gone well thus far. I finished the two classes for January and discovered that I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to try out the new iPad for the next month. This blog entry is, in fact, being typed out in the notepad on the iPad from my sofa while I drink tea and watch Law & Order: Criminal Intent. It is pretty cool; I must admit.

I've found my month passing by rather rapidly. Every time I look at my calendar, I am left feeling kind of woozy at the passage of the days. Since classes are only a month long where I work, I find teaching to be white-hair inducing when the months are incredibly shortened... As they were this month.
We lost the first day of class thanks to the New Year's Kittencaboodlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13784163623481023575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5631827617662961396.post-83831343781044483492012-01-18T09:00:00.001-05:002012-01-18T09:00:10.335-05:00Wordless Wednesday - Work in ProgressKittencaboodlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13784163623481023575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5631827617662961396.post-26229973997011165812012-01-14T14:47:00.000-05:002012-01-14T14:47:09.126-05:00Life is good
It was a rather Green Christmas
Coming down off the holiday rush always takes time. This season was no exception. We had a truly wonderful holiday, filled with friends, family, warmth and laughter. The week between Christmas and New Year's Eve we held no fewer than 3 parties. There was food and drink flowing, stories, jokes, and games... It was a good holiday.

I don’t know where time went and I don’t know how it got so crazy leading up to Christmas. By the week before, I still had almost all of my shopping left to do, a party on Christmas Eve with no food, and we barely had a tree…. However, by the time Christmas did roll around, the tree was decorated, food was prepared (including some Kittencaboodlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13784163623481023575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5631827617662961396.post-40594139559942175282011-11-30T17:21:00.000-05:002011-11-30T17:21:10.821-05:00Wordless wednesday - WINNERKittencaboodlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13784163623481023575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5631827617662961396.post-23555286546281399762011-11-23T09:00:00.002-05:002011-11-23T09:00:14.358-05:00Wordless Wednesday -- Inevitable or Improbableby visually via Kittencaboodlehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13784163623481023575noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5631827617662961396.post-51542723281002515062011-11-16T09:00:00.001-05:002011-11-16T09:00:09.339-05:00Wordless Wednesday - - Worth 1000 words

I'm over 20000 words into my NaNoWriMo piece and finding myself struggling with certain genre vs character issues. Big Guy has been reading over my work and feels that it's well written over all. I still struggle with being descriptive and not rushing through scenes, so I'm erring on the side of overly descriptive. I'm coming down with something, so I think today's entry, by necessity, must be short. It's times like these I begin to feel my growing age. Sleep is difficult, rest is difficult, and I'm not the 18 year old I still see in my mind's eye. Things ache and crack and pop now. They didn't always.
It was a busy and pleasing weekend. After the rally on Saturday, I attended another Assembly on Sunday and I knew it would be too busy a week for me to do much else on the ground. In my spare time, I did get another hat done for the Occupiers and a set of mittens as a special request.
I'm not sure that mitten is what you think it is...
